In Praise of QC Referrals

This post really ties back in with the Importance of Having a Circle of Winners.  On April 23rd 2013 I connected and reconnected with what looks to be some of the most awesome people in the Quad Cities.  Entrepreneurs and business folk who are looking to help each other out by referral passing, mutual continuous improvement, and community outreach and reinvestment.

That is QC Referrals

Lead and founded by Dave Wellman, Dave seeks to improve upon the mastermind model.  And I like it. Even though I’m not currently engaged full time in entrepreneurial pursuits (this blog being the exception), I am 90% sure I’m going to join this group, albeit for largely selfish reasons.  The chief of them being to connect with like minded people.  My day to day job is very much like the Matrix.  A place of hum drum, with excessive or joy being looked down upon by some.  Just being with these folks did my soul a lot of good!

Maxine Brand gave a great talk this morning about the importance of setting yourself apart to make yourself worthy of referrals.  It really boils down to the process of being exceptional and remarkable by solving problems in an existing market.  She really nailed down the science of creating a strong referral base.

Everyone else there was a joy to talk with and get to know and I look forward to seeing them at the next meetings.

If you are a small business owner in the QC and you have the right attitude, send Dave an email from his website to get more info on the requirements of QC Referrals you’ll be very glad you did.

What would having a strong referral base (even if you are traditionally employed) make possible for you?

Oh and if you are reading this today.  We’ve probably already met today.  But you can still contact Dave for info on the next weeks meeting.
