We Are The Cause of and Solution to all of our Problems

Homer Simpson once said that Alcohol is the cause of and solution to all of life’s problems.

I disagree with you immensely Mr. Simpson, even if you are named after a Ancient Greek Literary Great.

We are the cause of and solution to all of our problems.

According to Stephen Covey, it isn’t what happens to us, it is how we choose to react that does the damage. According to Michael Hyatt when something bad happens to us we can choose to ask an empowering question, such as “what does this make possible?” or we can ask a question that gets us stuck such as “why does this always happen to me?” Or “What’s wrong with me?”

Our reactions are a function of our character which is a function of conditioning until we get into the habit of consciously taking responsibility to change it.

This is where our freedom lies, and once we learn to do this, we can make better choices.  Choose to respond in a constructive fashion, and do it again.  You will eventually gain traction, and get back in control of your life.
