On Balance

Human nature is multidimensional.  Different authors explain it in different ways.  However, the important thing is this.

You must have balance in all areas of your life.

For instance, spirituality is the leadership center of the human person.

Next in lined is the mind or mental development.  We have to be able to reason properly and work with concepts in order to be successful.

The next part is the physical.  We have to take care of our bodies if we are going to keep possession of our mind and spirit.

Social/Emotional: No man is an island.  In order to be a complete person you have to have other people in your life who share a common vision.  You also have to develop sufficient soft skills to be able to deal with people who are antagonistic to your world view.  This is something that I’m working.

The tertiary areas from which these areas flow are financial, career, and overall personal development which cuts across the other 6 areas.

The 4 primary areas are the engine block of the car of life, the financial and career is the 4 tires and the personal development is your ability to maintain and update the car.

So, going with the car analogy, you have to be your own driver.  The driver has to keep himself in good physical, mental and emotional shape to keep moving, and then the vehicle has to be in good order as well to keep moving towards success.  To over specialize in one area is to have a dilapidated car that will eventually go off the road and not work properly.

So in other words, keep, maintain and grow your life.  It’s the only way to be!
